Ha Giang student wins first prize in children’s contest
BHG - The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation Central Council and the Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong' (Young Pioneers and Children) Newspaper held an award ceremony for a children’s contest entitled ‘Spring Journey to the Forest and the Sea’.
The contest was launched from November 15, 2023 to January 25, 2024, including two categories of writing and drawing.

After nearly three months of the launch, the contest attracted more than 600,000 entries from students in 51 provinces and cities across the country.
The organising committee awarded 32 individual prizes for students and 32 collective prizes for outstanding local Young Pioneer Organisations in 30 provinces and cities nationwide.
Among them, Vu Thanh Truc Vy, a seventh grader from Giang Chu Phin Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities in Meo Vac District, Ha Giang Province won the first prize for her 80-page entry.
Meanwhile, Hau Thi Kia, a fourth grader from Thai Phin Tung High School and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in Dong Van District bagged the consolation prize in the drawing category.
In addition, Ha Giang Provincial Young Pioneer Organisation was presented with the consolation prize for collectives in the drawing category.
The contest was held to commemorate the 75th death anniversary of hero - martyr Vu A Dinh (June 15, 1949 - 2024), the 25th anniversary of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, and the 10th anniversary of ‘For Beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa’ Club.
The contest created a venue for participants to share their knowledge of the Fatherland, and express love for the country. It also encouraged the cooperation between the mainland and the sea and islands, inspired the dream of building a beautiful country, and promoted determination to safeguard the national borders and islands among contestants.
