The Ministry of Transport said that according to the road network planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, National Highway No.34 has a total length of 265km, with about 72km running through Ha Giang Province. It is a class-four highway, including two to four lanes. National Highway No.280 has a total length of 173km, with about 28km running through Ha Giang Province. It is a class-four highway with two lanes.

The Ministry of Transport agreed with the proposal of voters on the necessity of upgrading these highways to connect Ha Giang Province with Cao Bang Province and Tuyen Quang Province to meet transportation needs and support socio-economic development in accordance with the road network planning and the planning of provinces. However, due to limited resource, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to allocate capital to invest in these highways in the 2021 - 2025 period.

Regarding the maintenance of highways and addressing bends that obstruct visibility on National Highway No.34, the Ministry of Transport allocated 103 billion VND from the maintenance fund to handle positions with potential traffic accidents on National Highway No.34 (Km10 - Km73) and National Highway No.280 (Km0 - Km28) in Bac Me District, including the handling of curves, costing about 11 billion VND.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Transport will continue to direct the Vietnam Road Administration indevising a plan to maintain and repair the above highways to ensure favourable travel and transportation conditions for people and businesses in the locality.
