ThaVillage recognisedas 'Typical Cultural and Tourism Village' associated with the OCOP programme

BHG - The People's Committee of Phuong Do Commune, Ha GiangCity, has just announced the Decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on re-recognisingTha village as a 'Typical Cultural and Tourism Village', associated with the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Programme.

Ha GiangCity leaders presented the Certificate of Community Tourism Cultural Village of ThaVillage and its three-star OCOP product, from the Chairman of the City People's Committee to the people of ThaVillage.

ThaVillage has 132 households with 99% being Tay ethnic people, the village was recognised as a new-style rural village standard in 2019. Currently, ThaVillage still preserves many cultural features of the Tay ethnic group.

Over 95% of households have stilt houses with palm leaf roofs following traditional architecture and 80% use traditional costumes and languages​. Cultural values, ​​such as Then dance, bowl dance, ethnic musical instruments, games, and folk festivals are preserved and organised regularly.

At the same time, the village has a folk art team that regularly practices to perform for people and tourists. Cultural institutions, facilities, and infrastructure are invested in and built, withthe appearance of rural areas increasingly changing positively.
