Ha Giang accelerates National Highway 2 upgrade and expansion
BHG - Contractors of the National Highway 2 upgrade and expansion project in Ha Giang City are taking advantage of favourable weather to expedite construction work and complete the project on schedule.
It is one of the eight projects in the secondary cities development programme, funded by the Asian Development Bank.
Construction work began in September 2023 and is undertaken by 471 Joint Stock Company and Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Joint Stock Company for 152.5 billion VND (6 million USD).
The contractors are manufacturing prefabricated water drainage structures. |
This is an important urban transport infrastructure project, which will expand a key gateway to Ha Giang City, connect the two sides of the Lo River and expand the urban development space.
Along with the Ha Giang Museum, March 26 Square, Lo River Dam and green parks, the National Highway 2 expansion project will create new urban highlights for a modern and green Ha Giang City.
Immediately following the ground-breaking ceremony, the contractors mobilised workers and machines to carry out the project.
However, construction work is facing a great deal of difficulties, including the clearance of large amounts of earth and rocks on the slopes and unstable roadbeds.
In addition, seven households have not agreed to receive compensation, and some electricity and communication infrastructure has not yet been moved.
