Dong Van Karst Plateau is a UNESCO-recognised Global Geopark. This place is famous for a pristine, majestic natural wonder and is also home to unique cultural value, imbued with the identity of ethnic minorities.
Possessing a unique culture and time-honoured beauty, which cannot be found in other places, this land has always been an endless source of poetry and inspiration for writers, artists and fashion designers. Therefore, at the ‘Beauty of the Plateau’ programme, each costume is a product of exquisite creativity, inspired by the beautiful landscapes and natural colours of the Dong Van Karst Plateau, from the grey colour of the cliffs, the green of the grass, flowers and leaves, to the yellow colour of the sunlight’s glow.
The programme promises to feature collections titled ‘Det Nang Cham’ (Weaving the Indigo Sun’), ‘Sac Dao Mien Da’ (Colours of Dao Ethnic Group), ‘Trai Hoi’ (Celebrating Festival), and ‘Thong Dong’ (Leisurely). Through each designer's perspective, the beauty of fashion spreads across many tourist destinations in Ha Giang City, including Dong Van Ancient Town, Lung Cu Flagpole, Vuong Palace (Dong Van District) and Nho Que River (Meo Vac District). Each collection will bring about a fresh, modern but very harmonious image, depicting the closeness and simplicity of the mountainous region. The collections also convey a positive message in preserving, safeguarding and promoting the core values of ethnic culture and heritage of the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
In addition to promoting tourism, the programme also includes the charity project entitled ‘Future Seeds’, which calls for a joint effort to build a brighter future on the learning journey and development of poor children living in difficult circumstances in remote and border areas in Ha Giang Province.
